Altenew Academy – Cards in Motion
Hello friends and thank you for joining me today. I am super excited to share these cards today. I love any cards that have an interactive element. They show the recipient they are EXTRA special. And, they are super fun to play with while you are making them!
I used Altenew Halftone Circles Nesting Dies to cut two circle frames from the patterned paper from the Celestial paper pack. On my card I got a little too close to the edge. I was still able to make it work, but when you make your card wiggle in the circles a tad!
It is important to save all of the pieces that you get from die-cutting your background panel. The thin circular frame will get glued down to the card base to maintain color continuity on your project. In order to line this up correctly, it is a good idea to place your circular frame and your circle back into the whole you have cut. This way you know that everything lines up correctly.
You can now adhere your circular frame to your card base.
You will flip your panel from the Celestial pack over and place two layers of foam tape on the back. It is important to remember your circles will still need to be able to have movement around them. I choose to use pennies.
I stamped my sentiments with Altenew Embossing Ink and used Altenew Crisp White Embossing Powder to emboss. I then took my Altenew Silver washi tape and put two pieces on a scrap piece of card stock. I cut the “world” sentiment and adhered to my card. I used Altenew Artist Markers to color in my adorable astronauts from Altenew Space Travel stamp set.
Once my astronauts were colored, I fussy cut them….I know, me fussy cutting! That is one of the great things about the Altenew Academy classes is you get to work on things that you are really good at, but more importantly you get to work on your areas you are weaker. After fussy cutting the images I used two small foam squares to attach it to my card. I then used a heart from Altenew Halftone Hearts Nesting Dies to cut a piece of Altenew Gold Foil cardstock (one of my faves!). My earth image is from Altenew Big World stamp set and the moon is from Altenew Mini Moon. The earth was stamped in Altenew Arctic and Altenew Minty Mint. The mini moon was stamped in Lava Rock onto some Altenew Pale Gray card stock. I think that adds an extra touch when creating a moon.
